A call for reunion at the heartwarming event of the East Bengal Club

Today, Thursday, February 24, 2022, an attempt has been made to sow the seeds of the union of two Bengals through a heartwarming ceremony at East Bengal Club Lawn. Mr. Sayem Sobhan, Chairman of Sheikh Russell Sports Club of Bangladesh and Managing Director of Bashundhara Group was today conferred honorary lifetime membership on behalf of East Bengal Club. Mr. Sayem Sobhan was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Sabrina Sobhan, Co-President of Bangladesh Football Federation Mohammad Imrul Hasan and many other dignitaries of Bangladesh.

At the beginning of the program, the Secretary of East Bengal Club warmly welcomed everyone. Mr. Subrata Dutta, Senior Co-President of All India Football Federation and Co-President of Bangladesh Football Federation both spoke about the popularity of two Bengalis in their speeches.

Debabrata Sarkar, the top executive of the East Bengal Club, said in his speech, “Once upon a time, two Bengalis were one and the same in the world of art, literature, sports and lifestyle. There is some distance between us due to some unknown wall. But in our heart Bangladesh is the same. Today, with the pull of that heart, the two Bengalis need to move together again. Sobhan Bhai and East Bengal Club can work together to unite the two Bengalis.

Mr. Sayem Sobhan’s remarks touched the hearts of all present. He said in his speech, “I have always thought of East Bengal Club as my own club. We also want the sports-loving people and the common people of the two Bengals to come closer in the future. We will sincerely strive for this. ”

The show became even more captivating with the songs of Mrs. Riddhi Bandyopadhyay and the dance performance of Abhirup Sengupta.
Everyone present pledged to stay with this endeavor with the dream of a brighter Bengal in the days to come.
