East Bengal Club celebrated ‘Deepak Jyoti’ honoring ceremony at hotel Hotel Hindustan International

On March 22, 2021, on the occasion of the 20th death anniversary of Deepak (Paltu) Das, the founder of the modern East Bengal Club, a ‘Deepak Jyoti’ honoring ceremony was organized at Hotel Hindustan International in Kolkata. On behalf of the East Bengal Club, President of the Club Dr. Pranab Dasgupta, Secretary Kalyan Majumder, Co-Secretary Rupak Saha and all the members of the Executive Committee of the Club were present on the occasion. Many former players and coaches were present. Former eminent journalists and many contemporary journalists were present. Officials of different clubs of Maidan were present. The whole event was given another dimension by the presence of IFA Chairman Shri Subrata Dutta and IFA Secretary Shri Joydeep Mukherjee. Prominent journalist Shri Gautam Bhattacharya took charge of the entire program.

There are some talented people in Bengal who have been working tirelessly for the betterment of sports in Bengal for many years. The East Bengal Club always thinks of talented people, and knows how to appreciate their work. So in this grand ceremony, recognizing the achievements of five such outstanding people, the ‘Deepak Jyoti’ honor was handed over to them.
They are,
Shri Prithvijit Ghosh, Outstanding Administrator of Bengal Sports, Shri Sanjay Chakraborty, Craftsman of Bengal
Shri Alokesh Kundu, one of the most respected people in the world of Bengal football,
Shri Bishwapatinath Mitra, the craftsman of making Bengal footballers and
Shri Nilimesh Roychowdhury , a unique personality in the area of sports in Bengal.
