1st August 2017 East Bengal Club celebrating their 97th Foundation day at Khudiram Anushilon Kendra. On this occasion Olympian and track legend Milkha Singh honored with the Bharat Gaurav Award along with a cheque of Rs. 2 lakh from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The octogenarian, who is not keeping well, could not make the trip to the City. His Secretary Digraj Sing received the award on his behalf. Sports Minister Aroop Biswas and Minister Firhad Hakim.

Former stars Shyam Thapa and Shyamal Ghosh were presented the Life time Achievement Awards. They were giving a cheque of Rs. 1 lakh each along with the award.

South Korean player Do Dong Hyun was adjudged the best football player of last season.

Two referees Mrinanshu Bhattacharjee and Anamika Sen was also awarded.

Sports Journalist Debashish Dutta and Sports Photographer Rony Roy also being awarded.
