Indian Super League 2025–26: Jamshedpur FC 2–1 East Bengal FC

February 27, 2026 | Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium)

Jamshedpur FC continued its impressive winning run in the ISL 2025–26 season with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over East Bengal FC at the Salt Lake Stadium on Thursday evening.

Despite trailing at halftime, the Men of Steel produced a spirited second-half comeback under head coach Owen Coyle to take all three points.

First Half at a Glance

For large parts of the opening half, Jamshedpur FC controlled proceedings with an energetic attacking display. Utilizing the pace of Vincy and Sanan on the flanks, combined with the trickery of Messi Bouli, the visitors kept the Red and Gold defence under sustained pressure.

However, against the run of play, East Bengal struck first. In the closing stages of the first half, Edmund Lalrindika showed excellent composure inside the box to slot home from close range, sending the Salt Lake faithful into raptures and giving the hosts a 1–0 lead at the break.

Second Half at a Glance

Trailing 0–1 at the restart, Jamshedpur came out with renewed intensity. Coyle’s men pushed forward with purpose, and their persistence paid off in the 61st minute when Stephen Eze rose highest to find the equaliser.

The momentum firmly shifted thereafter, and the comeback was completed when Tachikawa found the net to hand the Men of Steel a crucial lead.

East Bengal’s substitutions, particularly the decision to take off Ezeejjari while chasing the game, raised eyebrows. Head coach Bruzon’s tactical calls are likely to come under scrutiny following a result that snapped the Red and Gold’s winning run.
