East Bengal Reach Durand Cup 2026 Final!

East Bengal FC secured their place in the Durand Cup 2026 final with a hard-fought penalty-shootout victory over SC Delhi in Kolkata on Wednesday.

The match produced plenty of drama but no goals in regulation time. Prabhsukhan Gill emerged as East Bengal’s standout performer, making two vital penalty saves—first denying Rodriguinho during the match and later stopping Juan Sebastian Pena in the shootout.

East Bengal were unlucky not to break the deadlock, hitting the woodwork three times. Captain Mohammed Bassim Rashid twice saw his efforts crash against the post, while Jesin TK also came close after striking the frame.

SC Delhi threatened on occasions, but Anwar Ali produced a crucial last-minute challenge to deny Rodriguinho a clear opportunity.

With neither side able to find the breakthrough after 90 minutes, the semi-final was decided from the spot. Gill’s save gave East Bengal the advantage, and the Kolkata giants showed nerves of steel by converting all five penalties to complete a 5–3 shootout victory.

East Bengal now advance to the Durand Cup 2026 final, where they will meet the winner of Mohun Bagan and Northeast United on Sunday.

A night of resilience, missed chances and penalty drama—and East Bengal have emerged victorious to keep their title dream alive
