🔴🟡 Match Report: East Bengal FC 4–1 SC Delhi

ISL 2025–26 | 21 February | Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata

East Bengal FC registered their second consecutive victory in the ISL 2025–26 season with a commanding 4–1 win over SC Delhi, climbing to the top of the points table with six points from two matches.

Fast & Furious Start

The match began at a frantic pace. SC Delhi stunned the home crowd in just the 4th minute when Augustine Lalrochana beat his marker on the right and drilled a low shot past goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill to register the club’s first-ever ISL goal.

However, the response from the Red & Gold Brigade was immediate and emphatic.

Edmund’s Screamer Sparks the Comeback

In the 7th minute, Edmund Lalrindika produced a stunning volley from outside the box that rocketed into the net, bringing East Bengal level within minutes. The early setback only ignited the home side’s intensity.

Five minutes later, East Bengal earned a penalty after Edmund was brought down inside the area. In-form striker Youssef Ezzejjari calmly slotted home from the spot in the 12th minute, turning the game around in just eight minutes.

Miguel & Ezzejjari Combine to Dominate

Midfield maestro Miguel Figueira dictated proceedings with intelligent movement and incisive passing. His ability to operate in tight pockets consistently unsettled SC Delhi’s defence.

In the 40th minute, Figueira threaded a perfectly weighted pass to Ezzejjari, who showed composure to beat the goalkeeper one-on-one, slipping the ball between his legs to make it 3–1 before halftime.

East Bengal went into the break with complete control.

Second-Half Control & Late Flourish

The second half saw East Bengal continue to press. A clever through ball from Miguel and a dummy run from Ezzejjari created a golden chance for Nandha Kumar, though the winger’s effort lacked precision.

SC Delhi struggled to create clear-cut opportunities, while goalkeeper Vishal Gupta was repeatedly called into action to deny the hosts.

Deep into stoppage time (90’+5), Miguel Figueira capped off a brilliant performance by driving forward and curling a left-footed strike into the top corner, sealing a dominant 4–1 victory.
